Effective July 1, 2021, the Financial Services Property Management team will discontinue issuing N-tags for all University-owned non-capital computers and computer peripherals costing less than $5,000 with no sponsor funding.
This change allows for streamlined tracking and reconciliation of non-capital assets critical to the University mission and improves Property Management's ability to focus on business processes related to accounting requirements for non-capital sponsor-owned assets, University-owned vehicles, and assets with sponsor funding. This decision reflects feedback from many departments that they have systems in place to track computer and computer peripherals, making tracking these types of assets in UAccess Financials a duplication of effort for most.
Departments without an internal tracking system for the computers and computer peripherals can use this Excel template. Property Management can provide department specific tags, similar to N-tags, upon request. These tags are for internal department use only and will not be tracked in UAccess Financials.
All changes to non-capital asset tracking will be reflected in the Property Management Manual (PMM) Section 9.20 accordingly.
