Financial Services is excited to announce a realignment of departments within our organization.
Purchasing Card (PCard) Administration and Financial Compliance
The PCard Administration and Financial Compliance teams are now one unified team and have been moved to Accounts Payable. This realignment was implemented after discussions with our campus partners made it clear that many view the PCard as a payment method and having two separate teams dedicated to PCard could lead to confusion. This realignment allows increased collaboration on best practices for the handling of expenditures, with improved customer service and relationships with our campus partners.
The unified PCard team will be led by Karen Brookbanks and will report to Tammy Strom, Director of Accounts Payable.
As part of this change,
- PCard webpages have been relocated from the Procurement & Contracting Services website to the Accounts Payable tab on the main Financial Services website. While the pages will redirect, we recommend updating any bookmarks.
- PCard contact information has been added to the Accounts Payable contact information.
- The Financial Compliance email, compliance@fso.arizona.edu, will continue to act as a point of contact for PCard Compliance questions and concerns. To locate the appropriate person for other PCard questions, you may continue to use the Who to Contact for What guide, now located on the Accounts Payable PCard webpage.
- Consolidation of the PCard Policies Manual within the Financial Services Manual will take place in the coming months. We will provide further communication on this step as it develops.
Financial Compliance and Internal Control
- The Financial Compliance tab on the main Financial Services website has been removed. Content related specifically to PCard compliance has moved to the new PCard page.
- Internal Control content is now located within the Financial Management tab of the website, along with updates to the Internal Control Code of Conduct.
- Fund Accountant Services now includes internal controls, and this section of the website now contains updated examples of available services.
Throughout this transition, Financial Services is committed to continuing to provide outstanding customer service and evaluating our systems and organization for additional efficiencies.
