Effective January 1, 2023, the University has transitioned from the GLACIER online Nonresident Alien Tax Compliance System to Sprintax Calculus, a U.S. Income Tax Software for Nonresident Aliens. This secure, paperless software allows users to upload appropriate data and forms required to determine tax residency, potential tax treaty benefits, and tax treatment of University payments for students, employees, and vendors.
The Financial Services website has been updated under the Payments, Payroll, and Tax tabs to reflect these changes, as well as Policy 9.16 Payments to Nonresident Aliens. Training and additional resources will be available soon.
In alignment with the implementation of this new software, current foreign national students and employees have been contacted regarding this change and were provided guidance on next steps.
